I haven't talked to you before, but I am from the Peculiar Children Wikia and really need your help. I'm really scared and I figured that turning to someone that's been on my wiki was the first place to start. Outside of the wiki on various chat apps, I was friends with the user GravityMan. GravityMan has been pressuring me a lot about the wiki and told me I had to demote an admin or he would leave. I'm trying to do what's best for the wiki, but he's been pressuring me a lot. Anyway, things have gone too far bad with GravityMan to the point where I've had to block him. I want to cut him off in all ways, including the wikia, but I also feel at the same time he's made a lot of contributions. GravityMan has told me before that he is friend's with the wikia staff, and that he's had my bearucrat rights taken away from me before while I wasn't editing on the wiki (due to problems in my personal life as well as being busy). I'm really scared of having staff take my rights away because of him. I was wondering if you could verify whether or not he could do that to me through the staff? I posted this message here because while he is currently on a leave of absence from the wiki, I don't want to take any chances that he will see this and get my rights revoked. Also, he made me demote an administrator because she was inactive and that I guess there was some rule of having an odd number of administrators. The admin he made me demote he was, and still is, having a lot of personal problems with at the time.
Thank you for your help, please don't reply to me publicly on the wiki because I am afraid of him seeing it for the fore mentioned reasons.
I'm always happy to help! I looked into the situation a bit and I wouldn't worry at all. Here are a few things you should know
1. A bureaucrat can take away a sysop's rights BUT a sysop can NOT take away a bureaucrat's rights.
3. Technically, you have the most rights on the wiki so you shouldn't feel pressured by another user to do something! There is no rule about having an odd number of admins.
All in all, you shouldn't worry about your rights being taken away. If he has applied to take them away, he has contacted Special:Contact which is our Support department. They would definitely come to talk to you if they think there is a problem.
Nope, if you block him he won't be able to edit. Maybe give him a warning or create a set of guidelines for admins that they have to follow to stay on the wiki? Unless he is swearing or being really offensive!
If you aren't sure what to do, go to Special:Contact and you can involve our Support team.
Okay, will do! One more thing, though. Would it be possible for a staff member to get rid of the edit history of a blog post? I put some personal information and the last blog post I made and I'd like to clear it's edit history so the other users can't see the original version. Please help??
Hey Ariana! Just caught your post on Frankfoods--absolutely awesome. You called it a 'guided tour' in your title, and so I thought you might have a good perspective on something I'm building. The geneal concept is to guide others through an idea or topic by connecting live webpages into a single link. Here are two examples:
So glad you liked my guided tour! Did you create wayfinder or is that an example? Because that website is absolutely awesome!! Guided tours are a lot of fun-- linking several things together in one area of interest. My advice would be to choose something specific that you are into- whether it be video games or live concerts or food/drink, then take it from there. If it grows you can expand!
Yep, it will go live on Monday, Did you see my message about all the details on Reign Wikia? I forget if we talked about it already! I will message you (here or on Reign) when it's all ready to go. It would be awesome if you could promote it on the Reign Wikia main page!
P.S. I added Reign to our Spotlights section at the bottom of the page, so you should get some extra traffic this month! The 100 should also show up too.
